I was double checking my zero today at 100 yards. Load is 37gr of H110, 275TSX, rem 7 1/2 primers with .474 crimp, out of an 18" barrel. I was shooting into a an old box made of 1/2" plywood then into a pile of topsoil. So bullets traveled thru 1/2" of plywood then 24", into another 1/2 plywood then into the dirt.




While the load shoots a ragged hole I expected a little expansion

some bullets are designed to only expand from hydraulic pressures exerted by soft tissue. however i'm not familiar enough with these to know if thats the case.

shoot a few into a couple milk jug(s) and see what happens, or some wetpack, or gel if you have it. i bet you'll see a whole different story.

I'll have the wife save me some.jugs. hopefully come Saturday I'll see what it does to the shoulder socket of a big buck

I second the hydraulic effect, have never seen a Barnes not open up on a critter,

I also agree with the hydraulic pressure. The 275tsx I hit my bear with was very impressive!
