Why would they test with a 24" barrel? Nobody uses one! These velocities won't happen in a 16"- 18" barrel. Subtract 100fps or more.

IIRC, that's the standard barrel length they use for all the rifle loads they test. In defense of Rifle Length barrels, most of my bolt actions are 24" and a few are 26". None of my rifles are carbines unless you count the 100 yr old Winchester 94 I have. "Besides big butts (stocks), I also like big barrels, I cannot lie!" ;)

With that long of barrel, is it safe to assume that the data was for bolt action rifles?

My guess would be done in a pressure barrel, Saami sets the pressure spec for the 450 around 39k so those loads be good in a AR platform.

Agreed. The max load according to that was a full grain under what shot the best out of my old 16” bushy upper. I’d say it’s a pretty lawyer safe max

I load 43gr of Lilgun under the 225FTX and shoot 1" groups @ 100yds. My barrel is 1:24 twist BM 16". Don't try this in your barrel w/o working up to it. It shows no primer signs such as cratering or excess flattening.
