As I said - my fault. I have bought other blemish bullets from them but clicked the button too fast this time.

Mine were in my mailbox when I got home from work today. No surprise that they mic at .502. Interesting deep dished base. Must be a ML thing to get a good seal.

Back they go.

I have an office desk drawer for boxes of each caliber of bullets I reload. I found a partial box of 300gr XTP Mags when I was cleaning a couple of days ago and went to put them back in the .452 drawer. To add insult to injury, I already had 2) 50 count boxes of the .452 300gr SST/ML (FTX) that I bought from Midway the last time they had them on sale. Image

Back in January 2010, I had the opportunity to examine an AR in 50AE. I liked that big hole in the muzzle. This got me wanting a thumper class caliber upper for brush hunting but the 50AE was only a short production run and was not available. So my original plan was to get a 50b since they were available in the Overwatch configuration with a 24" barrel. A real rifle length barrel! Had the money in my hand, ready to shell it out.

Fortunately, at the advice of someone, I forget who, I did more research and after a lot of reading, I decided that the 450b offered more promise for internal ballistics, despite not being available with a barrel longer than 20".

Come March 2010, Bushmaster had a great sale on both the 16" and 20" uppers ($399) and I jumped on a 20". By the time it arrived, about a month later, I already had amassed the dies and reloading components. It never saw a factory round until after about 1500 rounds, and only then a couple of free boxes of Remington Accutips, to evaluate. They didn't do well and were the last factory rounds it saw.

OK so here's the Real Deal. Factory Second .452, 300gr FTX/SST on sale at Midway. Get 'em while they last. I've bought these before. Couldn't tell they were seconds.

EDIT: There's also the chance that they'll come down in price if they don't move.

The actual price is $.45 per bullet - $45 per hundred. Still a deal.

Midway also has 250 gr .452 "FTX" for $.28 per bullet. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/404225/factory-second-bullets-45-caliber-452-diameter-250-grain-flex-polymer-tip-expanding-box-of-100-bulk-packaged
