I made it out to my range to test some loads I put together. Bullsbag for a front rest. Millet foam wedge for rear. Scope set at 9x. Cloudy day light variable wide.

I was hoping for some comments and here is why. I notice the best groups are not with the lowest extreme spread or standard diveation. Most of my load developement was done without a chronograph. Also for much smaller cartridges. 22 Hornet, .223, 204 Ruger, 20 Practical.

I also normally go for 5 round groups but cut this back to 3 as cost of some of these bullets.

Im happy with what Im seeing accuracy but wondered the velocity ranges associated....

I saw your posting earlier, didn't have a chance to comment.

450B kind of goes against the conventional. A lot of people have noticed the same thing as you. The best/better groups usually don't have the best spreads. I remember seeing one member that shot a really good group (don't remember the bullet) and there was a spread over 200fps! As long as you get consistent accuracy, the spread shouldn't really matter.

5rd groups would be better, but 3 seems to work for load work up.

For me shooting 200 Grainers, I got the best results with little gun near or at max load.
