New Hornady primed brass

Postby CJP1 » Thu Aug 16, 2018 5:45 pm

I recently ordered 100 pcs of new Hornady brass from Xcaliber Ammunion that is primed with CCI 450 SR Mag primers. It was $25.00 for 50 pcs. I paid $58.00 and change for the brass plus shipping. I thought that it was a good price considering it is primed with the primers that I use. I pay the same for once fired brass from people that I work with that don't reload.

That's an excellent price for new Hornady brass, especially when they include a tray of primers!

So primed brass has no hazmat fee requirement?

Has anyone used the CCI 450 primer in their loads?

Yeah, I did a search and your posts about the 450 showed up, thanks Al. That's a good price for unprimed brass,

Yes. I have. They are okay. I prefer however to use the CCI #41 small rifle military primers. They are harder which is a good safety precaution in the AR platform and they are hot. I like them very much. My number two go to would be the Winchester WSR primers.
