I've reloaded with these and they're on par with Hornady and Magtech 230 FMJ.

How far off the lands are you seating the 230 FMJs?

IIRC, they will be just about if not totally out of the case before contacting the lands. I load them to 2.05 COL to get as much of the bearing surface down into the case as is reasonable. They cycle fine. Due to the overall shortness of the 230 fmj's, its hard to get sufficient neck tension on them without crimping them like an hourglass. IMHO, If they had a cannelure to crimp down into, they would be the cat's pajamas!
