Anyone used this pill? It has equal sectional density to the XTP Mag and a better ballistic coefficient. Hopefully it does not suffer from a lack of expansion. It does have clear advantages over the regular XTP in BC, and SD.

Welcome Aboard Befus!

I gave them a try but as you can see in this Range Report from back in 2013, I couldn't get them to "do the tighten up" as far as groups went. In their defense, I couldn't get the 300gr XTP Mags to tighten up either.

Hi Hoot-Thanks for the reply. i read that excelllent report.i was looking for more info because, as you know, just because a load/bullet might not shoot well in one gun does not mean it will not in some/most others.

Absolutely correct.

Back then, I became of the opinion that 300gr bullets just would not stabilize in my 1:24 twist barrels. Years later, I resized some 325gr .458 FTX bullets down to .452 out of curiosity. Darned if they didn't shoot really well over AA1680 out of the same twist barrel. The moral being, never assume. ;)

I tried to send a pic of a 1 inch group at 100 yards I shot with my Ruger Ranch Rifle using the 300 gr. Speer Deep Curl bullets, Starline brass, Fed. 205m primers and Reloader 7 powder but it wouldn't upload.
