...also a decent bruise on my right shoulder. 40 rounds of .223 in an afternoon is a good start. 40 rounds of Bushy is- enough.

Also confirmed that my rifle cycles 100% with AR Stoner 5 rd mag. Not so much with std .223 mags

Nice job. You should be able to tighten those 225’s up a bit.
Definitely try a muzzle brake and a recoil pad, if you can. My 16” Bushmaster factory upper is like that, can only handle a couple boxes worth. My 20” BHW is heavier, with no brake, but LimbSaver pad for my CTR and it actually has more recoil, but it’s a bigger push, so I can handle a few more rounds. My 18” Tromix has a Ross brake and LimbSaver pad, is lighter than both of those, and has the least recoil. I could probably shoot that thing all day and be just fine.

No idea if the 225’s would have flown better, but with a tenderized shoulder and an almost scope bite, I was gritting my teeth to hold them in. Next time I’ll start with the 225’s instead of shooting a box of 250’s first. Also thinking of getting a break. Ross Schuler says his four port break is what he recommends

I have Ross's 3 port on my 16", the girls shoot it's pet 300gr load with no problems. You will like it ;)

My Tromix has the 4 port Ross brake, it’s VERY effective. There is also a pretty big difference in recoil depending on loads. My 200gr XPB loads (43.5gr Lilgun) have decent recoil, but not bad. My 275gr TSX loads (40-41gr Lilgun and loaded long) are pretty friggin stout, especially in the 16” Bushmaster!

I’m pretty new to the game. May I ask what your “pet” load is? Why do folks go way heavier than 250 grain? I liked these 225’s but I want to expand my game a bit.

I think I imported them in the correct order. Here's some group info for your targets. The software could be more precise if the targets were scanned. Took some assumptions of the target & conditions. A reference distance of 1" was measured in the software of the squares, a target distance of 100yds, hole size of .451". Hope this helps. Good shooting.
