Magtech 225g Copper HP

Has anyone tried these?

They look just like Barnes copper bullets. They are listed as being designed for the 454 so they can be pushed pretty hard.

For me, the 450 isnt a long range proposition. I mean out past 100 yards long range.

Best part of these is the cost. They are .35 cents each. Far and away cheaper then Barnes.

Bought two hundred a week ago but have gout in my ankle and can't go reloading yet . Sure would like to see a water jug test ran on these , I believe these would make a great deer round .

Holy balls, that's one gaping hollow point!
I bet those will expand at lower velocities seen at longer ranges, without leaving lead bits in your venison at closer ranges.

This is copied and pasted from a thread posted a while ago regarding the Magtech .454 schp bullet.

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=16122

"What a timely post.
I just finished loading some of these 225gr Magtech schp in my 450 bm.
These are my results...
38.0 to 42.2 gr of Lilgun in .3 gr incriments.....average mv for 3 shot groups.
Hornady, once fired, brass, Federal 205 primers, brass trim 1.690", COL 2.150", Ruger American Ranch 16" barrel.

38.0. 2442 fps
38.3. 2454 fps
38.6. 2443 fps
38.9. 2436 fps
39.2 2493 fps
39.5. 2495 fps
39.8. 2500 fps
40.1. 2507 fps
40.4. 2550 fps
40.7. 2446 fps
41.0. 2476 fps
41.3. 2516 fps
41.6. 2508 fps
41.9. 2556 fps
42.2. 2568 fps

Accuracy wasn't all that impressive, most groups, at 100 yds, were in the 1.5 to 2 moa range, although several expanded past 3 moa.
However, the 39.5 gr load gave me a solid 1 moa group, with 2 shots on top of each other.
A little more work, tinkering, may improve those a bit."
