Deer hunting bullet?

Postby jccinohio » Thu Oct 03, 2019 11:28 am

Reloading for a 16" 1:16 bolt gun.. Planning on the Hornady die set with taper crimp.. I have H110, can pick up some Lil gun.. Question is, what bullet for Ohio deer hunting? Don't want to spend a fortune, so the Barnes & Black Butterfly are out.. Don't like the FTXs, have had bad experience with other calibers.

Ranges from 20yds to 250ish... Was thinking the 300gr Speer deep curl (designed for 454 casull).. or the Hornady 245gr SP interlock.. What do you think?

I'd try the new Hornady first.

I agree, try the interlock first. If you watch Midway, they put the Barnes bullets on sale every now and then. I think they recently had the 275 TSX for 75 cent's.
