Bolt Thrust and Locking Lugs?

Postby Lar45 » Sun Feb 09, 2020 2:49 pm

Hi guys, it's been a few months since I've been on. Hunting season kept me busy, 2 deer and 11 pigs :) The freezer is packed.

Anyway, my reason for posting today... Awhile back I was reading a post, by Wildcatter I believe, and the effects of bolt thrust on the locking lugs being less that what might be calculated by case area and chamber pressure. I can't remember all of the details clearly and can't seem to find it with the search box.
Does anyone remember the thread, or can point me in the right direction?

Thanks
Glenn.

Wildcatter also once said (to me). "I've blown up more guns than you own" and I own a lot of guns!

In Theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In Practice, there is.
