Resized .458 Hornady JRN and Bear tooth 350 grain WFNGC
Posted: Fri Jul 24, 2020 11:44 amTested the Bear Tooth 350 grain WFNGC first. Best load (so far) is 21.6 grains of Lil Gun producing 1452 FPS with SD/ES of 13 and 27. Kinetic Energy: 1638 ft./lbs. Seemed like a mild load so will slowly increase powder charges. Starline brass was used with CCI 450 primers. OAL: 2.202"
I only got to shoot 3 rounds of the Hornady 350 grain JRN over 36 grains of RL-7 before the sky opened up so didn't get velocity and energy figures but group at 100 was 1,261". Velocity should be in the 1550 fps range. Brass was Hornady, CCI 450 primers, OAL: 2.133". Will test the remainder on a dry day next week.
