Time for another upgrade.

So.
Maybe I’m overreacting but I’ve decided to tear down my old 14x8 work shed and build a 24x14 cabin in its place, put in a HVAC, and other niceties, and install a ducted thru-wall type ventahood over a casting bench. I will also have a few other work stations in the new shop for case prep, bullet lube/powder coating/sizing and a island work station for gun maintenance and AR building. I’ll probably have a few more benches and an area for storage shelves, a small chill out area to watch TV with a couch and a chair. Might even move my Ham radio bench out there. I don’t like casting bullets in my home and I would really feel better if I had a controlled environment like a cooled/heated shop to cast in.
I’m not asking for permission. I’ve already dropped 10K on the project. Just waiting for the cabin to arrive so we can start the interior work, rough-in electrical and set up.
It’s gonna be nice to get a bunch of that gun gear out of my house so I can actually take back control of my spare bedroom and the “busy” gun room.

I’m thinking a Futon sofa that pulls out into a small bed. As for plumbing, Naw. This is the prairie. You can pee off the front porch as it is. Just step outside for a whiz or go to the main house for a dump. Besides, plumbing means water. And the last thing I need is another water line to worry about. I’ve still got busted pipes from that deep freeze last month. But I might set up a sort of “fish cleaning” station with a temporary water supply if needed. There’s a hose spigot close by.

Update on the new shop. It took quite a while but the new shop was finally delivered and set up two weeks ago. Since then, rain has been putting a damper on things. But we are working on it a little bit at a time. I am currently trying to finish the underpinning and beginning to dig the sites to bury the conduit for electrical. The rain has been a bugger this year. So if I can’t work outside, I try to work a bit inside. I’ve started the rough in of the electrical by measuring where the receptical boxes and switch boxes are gonna need to be and then putting them in. Also drilling the studs to run the romex through. I burned up some old cheap arsed paddle bits so I got to pick up some more today. Anyway. Here’s a pic of what it looked like last week.

Update.
Well. It’s been a rainy month or so and that’s caused some delays. But we finally got the wiring roughed in. I also ran the first section of underground conduit for the service entrance cable. After backfilling the trench, we got another hard rain and it turned that area into a crawfish pond. So I threw down 14 cubic feet of cedar mulch to stop the mud fest. Here’s one recent pic, but I’ll post a few pics on our FB group or on my Facebook feed.
