Lee Case Trimmer Accuracy

Postby arrowshooter » Fri Feb 18, 2022 10:45 pm

HI, This is now my second post and it's a question. For those of you that are using the Lee Case trimmer, are you getting the 1.695" trim length or 1.69"? My experience with the Lee trimmers is that they can have a tendency to trim short.

Welcome Aboard AS!

Its been many years since I upgraded to an RCBS Trim Pro but I still have my Lee case trimmer squirreled away from back in those early days. Its late but I can check for you tomorrow.

I’m using the Lyman trimmer. It seems to work well. When I need to trim the 450s…… which is kinda rare.

I'm so sorry. I plumb forgot about this until just now. I went down and trimmed a piece that started out at 1.702. The Lee trimmer took it down to 1.6945. Not all that far from 1.695. You can put thin shim washers between the threaded end of the guide rod and the cutter body to increase the trim length.

Thanks Hoot. I'm getting 1.6935" now, but I'll try to track down my package of R/C car electric motor washers as a standby.
