Why such a slow powder for 250gr bullets?
WRT Berry's. I tried them once a long time ago and found them shedding slivers of jacket as they exited the muzzle. One of which embedded into the display on my chrony. Its still there. The remainder of them wound up being slingshot ammo.

I take it that you can't find Lil Gun powder in your area? That stuff's hard to beat.

The 1680 powder I have in stock and is listed in Lyman AR manual which helps since that makes two caliber that use the same powder. I haven't looked for Lil gun at Scheel's yet but 1690 start at 1606 to 2122 fps which work good for Berry bullet. Cost is a main factor and I'm still looking some good jacketed bullet.

Myself I bought some 1690 once might even still have some of it left on the shelve way in the back.....myself its garbage smokey- dirty- flaming I have no use for it theres plenty of good powder and some great that deserve being used....
LilGun is one of the great powders and I use it anytime it can be used....the one bad and I can live with it it doesn't like to be compressed very much.....

Issues - 1& 2 (all testing phase only)
1 - Well it turns out the was 2.080 will do the plunk test. ( just learn that word from another thread) I used the Hornady comparator and the ammo checker to start. But the coal is the same as the 300gr FN load data which is 2.080 which I'm ok with that.

2 - I've set round in brass and will get a bulge on the side and some worse than others. The steps I tried new brass and new brass resized, with flare and no flare, bullets as is, and resized them. It's all-new Starline brass. I've done 2 pistols and 5 rifle brass with no problem. All thoughts ?

Mic (not caliper) the diameter of several of those Berry's you're trying to use. If they're more than .452, therein lies your problem.
The only time I ever encountered bulge was when trying to use cut down .284 Win brass. The walls were too thick back where they were cut down to 1.70.

Wait. Berry? Those aren’t jacketed bullets, right? Those are plated bullets.

Warning from Wildcatter was to never use plated bullets with the 450 Bushmaster. They will fly apart in a blue puff of lead shards.
