Yes, if they are pure lead or nearly so, but then again you could not move them very fast for fear of leading the barrel, hence the work of BD and a bunch of others here with gas checked Hard Cast bullets. But one could get good terminal results with high lead bullets if they were hitting, say a deer, at speeds about 1000 fps or less. To do this the bullet is going to be a long way down range, which then will act like a 45 colt hitting the deer and that will have very satisfying results, that are well understood by any cowboy..
