Results from this mornings outing. I only shot 300's today trying to get my hunting load squared away. I took 3 dif powder charges along. Funny thing I didn't gain any speed from 39 to 39.5 grains but the 39.5 grain loads shoot better. I'm pretty sure that's the limit of how much powder will burn in my 20" barrel.

This will be my hunting load.

That load ought to work great for about anything that's in front of the muzzle. Happy hunting.

I'm going to load some more up today and head to the 400 yard range tomorrow and see where things are hitting and where my BDC marks end up from 100 to 400 yards.

Stealthshooter, You're doing some great work here and filling in the missing pieces in our knowledge base.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks Hoot. I think I'm going to sight my rifle in for the 300's and H110. I'm also going to up the charge again on the 200's and the 350's. I'm actually quite surprised at how well the 296 is working with the 200's. I am also thinking I need to try the 300's with the AA1680. I'm hoping to get down to using 2 powders and it looks like the H110 and the AA1680 are good candidates.

You're doing good, son. Case head expansion isn't off the scale yet and indeed try 1680 for the 300's. It may not give you allot of speed increase, but it will drop the pressures, allowing you to approach 100% case fill (to the bottom of the bullet), and then bring the pressures back up, to try to see a speed increase.

Keep in mind that 296 and 110 are the same powder, these days, not true years ago..
