It's funny you ask. Like the .44 Mag, .45 ACP and .308 when trimmed to .7", I get about 259gr from the .40 S&W. They all produce a bullet similar in weight once the excess lead is trimmed off.

hey hawcer, I got 20 rounds made up from 308
at minimum wage, if anyone wanted to buy some, I figure about $9.50 each would be fair.
I'm still waiting for a crimp die so I can load them.
I left mine flat pointed like your originals. It kept he occupied for a couple of weeks anyway. I might try one on a deer.Definitely won't take any to the hog hunts.
Anyway,,,thanks for the inspiration. It's refreshing to try something new and educational at my age
