It seems like the 350 L may use .357 Dia bullets , by looking at the specs on the specs. I have seen on Winchesters Website states bullet Dia is .357
Myself I see the 350 L as a hit ... If I just recently hadn't purchased a Ruger Ranch carbine in 7.62x39 , I would be looking more seriously at the 350 L in the same package ... and if it turns out to be a true .357 dia .. I may splurge !

I talked with a Hornady engineer and he says the 170 grain spire point bullet for the 350 L is .355 diameter. It was also posted on another forum that a gentleman had talked with Hornady and he too was told it .355 diameter.

I also called Federal Ammo and talked with a technician and Federal is using .357 bullets in both the Power Pak and Fusion ammo they are making for the 350 L.

I haven't seen any information on what diameter bullet Winchester is using in their hunting ammunition.

It will be interesting when someone actually pulles a bullet from each one of these shells and measures them and posts their findings.

No interest here. But I saw the heavy sub sonics are out and available for purchase.

As for the rifle, my dealer Called and mine will be in early next week!!

I picked up My 350 today.

Took it all apart, re locktited the base. Good thing too as it was oil soaked and three of the screws where loose!

I mounted up the Leupold 2x7 VXII scope and bore sited it. Shooting this coming weekend!

I finished putting together my 350L upper a few weeks ago. I went with an GLFA 18 inch barrel and used some lighter weight parts I had lying around. I must say I’m very happy with this round and the rifle I built for it. I have not shot for accuracy yet so keep in mind my comments are after 60 rounds of function check only.
The speculation about recoil and blast is spot on. It is very comfortable to shoot both on the shoulder and the ears. I was wearing ear protection but this gun is going to be used for deer hunting so I was searching for less violence than my 450BM for that purpose.
First all standard AR parts will work except the magazines. For this I used 10 round Pmags and used a dremmel to take out the front ribs. These ribs are where the 556 shoulder sits so whether the pmags or the new dedicated aluminum mags these ribs are the only difference. The standard follower works fine. I was able to load all 10 and they ran perfect. I suspect a 20 round mag or even a 30 would work if you could find a good way to get the full length of the ribs ground down.

I used an adjustable gas block because I do intend on using my suppressor with this set up once the subs are available.
I also am using a lightweight bolt carrier so I wanted to be able to control the pressure. So far everything looks good and functions correctly.

I mentioned the recoil not just because it is always nice to be beaten less, but this caliber allows you to use standard or lighter parts. This site is full of tricks to add weight, use heavier stocks, adding recoil pads etc. to 450s to keep them manageable. None of this is needed for the 350. By the time I built my hunting 450, it was heavier than I wanted and follow up shots were a challenge. It is very easy to stay on target with the 350.
So far I’m very happy with everything around this project. Accuracy tests will hopefully be done tomorrow with just the FMJ ammo that is out there so far. I bought 2 cases so I should be able to work it out and get everything broken in.
I’m looking forward to some reloading info coming out. There is some debate so far if you will be able to use 357 dies or if we will need dedicated. In the meantime I guess I’ll just have fun and get ready for deer season.
If anyone has any questions just let me know.
Thanks
