.22LR ?
Are you guys kidding ? All the real guns out there and you ask about .22LR?
Okay.
- A Winchester model 60A bolt action that my dad traded a pig for when he was 12 in the 1940's.
- A Browning BL22 lever action that I have had over 40 years. My dad paid 69.50 for it when I was 12.
- A Colt Woodsman that was purchased new in the 70's just before production ceased.
- A Colt Diamondback.
- A stainless steel .22 conversion kit for my AR's.
If it came down to only being able to own one caliber, I think we know what most of us would still have.

Mark. It's the story behind the 22s that make them heirlooms. It's the nostalgia and the tales of the days of old and memories of childhood wrapped around these twenty twos that make them interesting.

You are so right 'Dawg. Same is true of knives. If it comes with a story it becomes a priceless posession. It can be given away, but never sold.

Lets see.....

Remington Nylon 66 (my first "real" gun...dad got it for me when i was 8....so 26 years ago...won't ever get rid of it)
Glenfield model 25 (this is a pre 1968...no serial number....bought and refurbished it when my wife was pregnant for out son, so that someday I could give it to him....he unfortunately never had the chance to shoot it)
Marlin 25MN (first rifle I bought myself, when I turned 18...bolt action 22mag....awesome shooter)
Heritage Rough Rider revolver with spare 22mag cylinder

And I agree with the previous posts...if it all came down to one....we would all still own a 22LR. They're cheap to shoot, fun to shoot, and will pretty much keep us all from starving to death if we needed 'em to.
It's not the size of the Dog in the Fight that matters....It's the amount of Fight in the Dog!

Marlin 25MN .22 Mag that also shoots great, also the first gun I bought myself, and a 5mm Rem Magnum (best rimfire ever) that shoots 5/8" 5-shot groups at 100 yds. EDIT: Oops, forgot the Heritage revolver, a decent little gun, actually. HAD a Nylon 66, foolishly sold it.
