70705-t6 block aluminum

Postby mossy89 » Fri Jan 18, 2013 10:07 am

So I'm sure it's hard to come by. But a guy I work with, his son has a ffl and business in Tennessee and he contacted a lower manufacturer looking for dealers, and he said he'd give him a good deal on lowers if he can help him find some block of aluminum because his supplier is out. What size block would be required for a lower? Also any sites online or anyone have a local shop that has access to the right size block? I'm sure someone on here has done milling before on a 80% or something.

Sorry but you have one to many 0's in it. It should be 7075 t6 and is used mostly in the aircraft industry with the Boeing plane back log it's going to be tight. I will see what I can find. How many were you looking to build?

Ya something like that Boeing is just down the road. And there are numbers of suppliers around. If you only wanted a few I might be able to buy some from work but can't buy that that much. I will talk to a couple of our purchasers and see what I can find.
I took some measurements off my ar looks like 1.4"x 4"x 8" for the lowers and 2"x 2.5"x 8" for the uppers if any one has a stripped pair and can get me some better measurements let me know.

Alro steel here in MI I am sure has what you are looking for if I can get a 1ftx1ftx1ft billet of copper I am sure they have 7075

http://www.alro.com/

Give them a call they are right by my house if they have it in stock then they probly have leftover drops in the front room but they won't tell you over the phone if they have it in a drop.
If they have it in stock let me know and I will go see if they have a drop in the deminsion you need and could mail it depending on the size
