What tricks do you mean?
I know a gunsmith that converted a 223 bolt to 7.62x39.
I think he can do the trick (I hope).
I read about the modified 7.62x39 extractor.
What else are points of atention?

You pretty much have got it. if he's done a 223 to a 7.62x39, then he will know exactly what has to be done. The Rim diameter on the Russian is.447", where-as the 450b is .473"..

For you guys looking, Palmetto State Arms has 5.56 complete bolt carrier assemblies for $89.99. This is about as cheap as they get.

Just realized that I receive dealer discounts because I have a collectors license. The emails that they send me daily may be different than yours. I would highly recommend a federal C&R license as it opens doors and provides discounts for some businesses.

There was a dealer at a gun show recently that had one. A winchester mod 70 classic, short action, with a ruger No 1 45-70 barrel fitted and rechambered to the 450. Had the rib and front and rear sights. Who ever did the work was a professional. Very good job.
