IMPO Initial reading about the ballistic possibilities of this one don't impress me.

There are a bunch out there getting "tested". Some are interesting, some are just a waste of money. I am at the point now where any "new" cartridge has to be a significant improvement and or just be a barrel swap to interest me.

Don't get me wrong, love my .450BM, and hope to do some more work on the .450C this year, but the proliferation of cartridges is staggering. .22LR, .223, 6.5PCC, .300BO and .450BM are the ones I have kept in the AR platform. Going to have to be pretty amazing for me to add, or swap one of those out.

If I could find the proper barrel, I would like a 7.62x39. But I don't want a .308 bore.

ARP x39 barrels use .311 bore. I'm getting sub-MOA out of mine with Hornady factory SST rounds. They stopped making them a few years ago... but, as luck would have it, someone on the 68forums is selling theirs with a bolt.

I have a YHM 7.62x39 that I am told is .310, but I haven't slugged the barrel to be sure. Its just a 16" non hbar. An hbar would probably see a little more accuracy. I get right around moa or a little more with Zombie ammo. My best reloads have been with Nosler 125g ballistic tip, but I'm still in testing.
