Linear comps

Any of you guys used a linear comp on a 223? From what I read they help keep the blast noise out front.

i have a STD linear comp on my 16" upper, as well as using them on my 300 blk rifle and pistol.

they're defiantly gentler on the ear than using a brake, but i use them as much these days as a thread protector as i do a muzzle device since i mostly shoot suppressed.

rumor has it Jim is working on a 45 caliber version of them as well, geared toward his 458, but it would of course cross over to the 450 just like his 300blk ones do on a 308.

they really are an impressive flash hider. I've tested them at dusk at my buddy's place and they significantly knock down the muzzle blast on my guns.

Yes I do. I have three of them. I really like them too. I have one on my AR 15 pistol and it's helped tremendously. The other
Is on my HBar and I have another on a Ruger 10/22 takedown.

Midway used to sell them. Now they are selling this style.

This guy might be able to make one for the 450b (does custom design brakes/comps):

Hopefully, it's more effective than the one I tried from Brownells about 10 years ago:

Image

It did absolutely nothing for recoil, aside from the impact that having that much additional weight on the end of the muzzle contributed. It's collecting dust somewhere down in the shop.

In Theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In Practice, there is.

Hoot...I put one of those on a 10/22 and it actually made it balance better, and did reduce the report somewhat, especially to the sides and rear...

That's exactly the one I have on my 5.56 ARs. Especially the pistol. I didn't buy them for recoil reduction. I bought them to divert the blast from my ears.
