Add to that those many hunting bullets made for 35 rifles with 358 diameter.

Correct. I went back edited my post because that is what I was actually referring to. Too many similar number’s. Lol

I guess to get better accuracy from .355 bullets, but I would think they would run into a pressure issue with .357/.358 bullet's, and not get the most performance out of them. Which if correct, would be dumb, because you would most likely be using a .357/.358 to hunt with, so you want to get the most out if it. Maybe you can run slower powders to reduce the peak pressure?

I really want this thing to come out already so we can get actual answers, although, i think I already made my mind up about not getting it. Simply because it doesn't look like I can convert 5.56 brass.

SAAMI specs a regular 357mag with a .355 groove also but with a .358 throat, so my guess with tolerances stated and with all their advertisement it would be a .357 bullet.

True, but revolvers are designed to do so. They have a forcing cone, that swages the bullet down, and have cylinder gap, where they “bleed off” pressure. I’m not saying it can’t be done in a rifle, simply stating it isn’t needed or warranted. They are complicating this for no reason. Or maybe they are doing it so people don’t get desired results with standard components, and they are stuck with running Winchester’s components for hunting. Who knows.

Interesting, I thought the 450B was spec’d at .451-.452, with .4515 being nominal.

not sure if barrel makers have a different set of tolerances they adhere to, or if SAAMI just list the minimum sizes and then with a +.002 tolerance.

Guess we'll wait and see when the ammo becomes available what the real bullet diameter is and reviews from real world shooters what the round is really like.

ya... thats gonna be a real shot in the ass for them.

now its just another straight wall cartridge with $1/peice speciality brass for the first 5 years or so, unless starline jumps up and gives them the finger right away.

Have seen some rumors, not sure how accurate. Saying factory plinking ammo with fmj around $10 a box of 20. If that's true then I would think the specialty brass would be less of a concern. Who knows..

so i totally missed that they announced an AR platform rifle for the legend at SHOT too. looks like winchester made CMMG hold out a few days to announce so as to not steal their thunder with the new cartridge. *couBASTARDSgh*
