350 legend

Ok, so this is a new introduction that fits the bill for deer hunting in most restricted firearms areas. Anyone have ballistic info or case dimensions. Is it rimmed or rimless?

rimless, 1.710 case length, .357 caliber, 145gr @ 2350fps, 160gr @ 2250fps.

I'll stick with my 1.800 full length version

I'd take that any day over my 7.62x40WT.
Al, why you figure that they went with 1.71 v 1.80? Too hard to get 223 brass to make length when expanded?
I bookmarked that mdws link for reading in the echo camber tonight.
There's always Starline 223 Basic brass. $91.00/250 shipped free from Starline.
Sure can tell February is just around the corner. I always buy something crazy in February.

my uneducated guess would be able to also run in a AR15, but I also seen a video from their range day where they were loading mags and didn't look like much room left in them for anything longer.

Bullet diameter is .357, so might rule out using any .358 bullets. And there's not a huge selection of .357 pills that can take that kind of velocity hence why they came up with their own bullets.

still waiting to see a chamber or case spec, interested in water capacity, taper, throat, etc.

The 1.60 357 Max specs at 33.6gr H2O. We may be able to get a good estimate based on how much H2O your 1.80 case holds. Split the difference...

Trying to model it in QL. 142gr FMJ's really hustle based on 37gr H2O estimated capacity at 1.71.

Ok, sounds like it might be a contender for use in our restricted firearms areas here in Michigan during deer season. I'm not sure there's a significant improvement over the 450 bm performance wise. Looks like a 200 yard max cartridge on deer.

On another forum, can’t remember which one, they were saying that it runs a rebated rim, so might not be able to use .223/5.56 brass. That’s deal breaker for me, if true.

As to the .357 bore, try lee bullet sizer in .357 or .356. Similar to what we do with .458 bullets.

I was wrong, bullet diameter is .355 not .357. The reamer print shows .357 freebore. Plus it's mentioned in this video.

Actually Winchester states that right in the subsonic ammo ad linked in the other thread here. Personally, if I were into subsonic rigs (too expensive + ridiculous wait time), I'd go for more weight and frontal area like .452.

just sayin...

Well a .355/.357 sub bullet should do better than say a .308 sub bullet, especially in a hunting scenario. However, I agree, might as well do a .452 sub bullet. It just so happens I received a 10.5” 1:16 twist 450B barrel in the mail the other day. I also happen to have a few boxes of Makers 425gr subsonic expanding coppers!
