I have an all carbon bushmaster .223, it's guts are metal but bother upper and lower are carbon composite. Only problem I have had with it was while changing the pistol grip I stripped the pistol grip screw hole. Luckily new grip had extra hole that I could put a plastic screw through to tighten it back up. I don't think I would put my .450 on it or trust my life on it either. But it is a fun plinking gun and light weight. And was only $550 with cabela coupon.

I just can't trust them plastic AR's, they just look brittle like fiberglass. But I suppose my most trusted handgun being a plastic Glock should help me to consider broadening my horizons.

Update: I've been out coyote hunting with it a few times, no dogs (got to try the orange trick). The stock rattles on the the rifle extension.
Never noticed it at the range - ear muffs. Haven't looked at a fix yet, but the noise could scare an animal off.
Never pet a burning dog!
