My Pact puked

Postby CJP1 » Mon Sep 10, 2018 9:27 pm

My Pact scale and/or dispencer quit working properly. Pact no longer repairs their own reloading scales and dispencers as they have run out of parts. I'm looking for suggestions on new ones powered by 110.

I have a RCBS Chargemaster for 6yrs, that's been pretty good unit, no complaints.

Around that much time on my Lyman 1200 DPS and ditto. Nearby cellphone transmissions bother it however. I go to my man cave to escape that world so no problem.

In Theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In Practice, there is.

I was looking at the RCBS Chargemaster 1500 but the word is they are going to be discontinued. I'll be back in the same boat if I go with the 1500. I'm now looking at either the RCBS Chargemaster Lite or the Lyman Gen 6.

I decided on the RCBS Chargemaster Lite. It newer technology than the Chargmaster 1500. I thought the Lites powder drain looked stronger than the Lyman Gen 6. It was deliveded yesterday but I was out of town. Will be checking it over tomorrow after work.

I took a sample of some of the rounds that I had loaded for target testing. Of the 8 different rounds that I took apart, they ranged from right on to .6 grains overcharged. Looks like I'll be pulling the rest of the 88 rounds apart to check them all for differences in charge weights.

They were Hornady 240gr XTP Mags. They were from 34.9gr to 37.0gr of Lil-Gun.
