I got into reloading after getting my 450, and that is the only round I load. I went with a Hornady Classic kit. Hornady is having a special promotion for 2012, similar to the one I took advantage of last year with free bullets. Here is the link - http://www.hornady.com/promotions/get-loaded-2012. The kit comes with the Hornady Reloading Manual, which you will need (per several of the previous posts). Cabelas has the deluxe kit at http://www.cabelas.com/product/Hornady-Lock-N-Load-Classic-Deluxe-Reloading-Kit/1318447.uts?Ntk=AllProducts&searchPath=%2Fcatalog%2Fsearch.cmd%3Fform_state%3DsearchForm%26N%3D0%26fsch%3Dtrue%26Ntk%3DAllProducts%26Ntt%3Dhornady%2Bclassic%2Bpress%26WTz_l%3DHeader%253BSearch-All%2BProducts%26x%3D14%26y%3D11&Ntt=hornady+classic+press&WTz_l=Header%3BSearch-All+Products. It was on sale when I bought it with free shipping. I supplemented the basic classic kit with some things that are included in the deluxe kit (like the shell holders), a Quick-n-eze case cleaning rig from Franklin Arsenal and a few other tools, like a bullet extractor http://www.cabelas.com/product/RCBS-Powr-Pull174-Bullet-Puller/1172349.uts?Ntk=AllProducts&searchPath=%2Fcatalog%2Fsearch.cmd%3Fform_state%3DsearchForm%26N%3D0%26fsch%3Dtrue%26Ntk%3DAllProducts%26Ntt%3Dbullet%2Bpuller%26WTz_l%3DHeader%253BSearch-All%2BProducts%26x%3D21%26y%3D3&Ntt=bullet+puller&WTz_l=Header%3BSearch-All+Products.

PM me and I can send you a spread sheet with my final equipment list.

There are also a lot of videos on YouTube about reloading. Hornady has a series covering most of their equipment.

PM sent.
I see that I need to start putting some cash back
and do a little window shopping.
I will also keep an eye on the newspaper classified.
No cash on hand for this right now.

For a new reloader, it will be hard to beat this and after you come to be more comfortable, with your new found skills, you'll have a great foundation to making a much better, though a much more expensive decisions, about better equipment. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQNz2ie5H5U

I've seen these just lately in the $100+- range..

Thanks. I think that would be a nice starter kit for me.
It also would be closer to my price range to get started.
Then I would only need dies, brass, powder, primers and bullets.

You can pick up the Lee Classic Cast press for about half what a Rockchucker goes for, but it's not half the press. They're about tit for tat, though I give the edge to the Rockchucker's handle attachment system. I give the edge to removed primer process to the Classic though. At $73.40, the Classic Cast is an excellent value. You can buy the other components separately and specifically for your needs. I could own any priming tool, but I still love and use my Lee Safety hand priming tool.

That Lee Classic is a great price. I don't reload 50 BMG, but that price for a 50 BMG is considerably less than RCBS.

Please note that there is a lot of infomation on reloading and reloading equipment at http://www.450bushmaster.net/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1199&start=30, which was an earlier thread titled "Okay... ready to start reloading for the Hornady 250 FTX."

Would be useful to combine these two threads.

Ok. I will do some reading.
I did look around on line for the Lee Anniversary kit.
Found it for around 82.00 plus shipping.
Take a look

Does this look like a good starter?

Yes, that's the one I'm talking about. For starting off, considering your limited budget and the small amount of reloading you're going to do, I don't think it can be beat. If you added up the cost of all those components individually it would be in the hundreds of dollars. It's all there, all you'd need is your dies, powder, primers and the empty cases from the first box of factory rounds you shoot and yer off reloading. The Lee Anniversary kit will cost you less the .450 die set!

Any suggestion on where to ge the 450 Bushmaster
die set? They are out,so I added them to my wish list.
I saw these at Natchez supply.
http://www.natchezss.com/product.cfm?co ... Bushmaster

One more question. Will any dies work with any reloading set?

Like this match up. The Hornady dies and this Lee reloaded?
Thanks
