sampler box loaded by "Hoot" was a lot of fun shooting all the different loads. Thanks again "Hoot".
These were all shot at 50 yards chrono was at 10 feet.
magtechs were 2500 fps. I lost the fps for 200,225 I think they were 2300 fps.

Hoot, what you think of that 1680 powder?

I need to get out and play as soon as I mow the weeds down, and it cools off a bit

It's a good powder Al, but IMHO, it's too darn slow for most of what we load mainstream. I haven't found a good match for it up to the 300s I've loaded. There are of course some things one can do to help, like crimp the living heck out of the bullets to give it a chance to get going, but that'll only buy you so much. So, the jury is still out on it from my perspective.

Though I'm not particularly into 300gr and up projectiles for what I hunt locally, I did pick up some more 300s to experiment with. I have been laid up from knee surgery and still on the road back, so I'm woefully behind on both my reloading experiments and my home projects. In the mean time, the honey-do list has grown into a monster in advance of my daughter's graduation party in late July and say what you wish, but If Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!

So much that needs doing and so little opportunity... :|

I love 1680, but it requires heavy for caliber bullets, to use it efficiently. I have had some luck with the Barnes 275gr. XPB's, but generally you'll need to use it in 300 grain bullets. !680 is the ticket for 325's-405's..
