I am a newb, and I was wondering where I can acquire a Go/ No Go Gauge for my 450 Bushmaster? I love my Thumper but it is frustrating not having these things readily available. Also, does any other company besides Hornady make brass for the 450?

if your talking headspace gauges, check with Dave Manson at Manson Reamers.

Hornady is about the only game in town for new brass and ammo, Remington had some factory ammo also, once fired brass is scarce but does show up from time to time. Then a few here have played with opening up Win 284 brass.

PTG had gauges in stock last week.

I figure the best way to go about getting brass is to buy new Hornady ammo, and then reload it. Even on sale at Midway the brass is too expensive.

The best way to get brass is to buy once fired cases from those who don't reload. Several people on this board, me prominently included, have offered to buy once fired brass. PM me (or you can search for others on the board) if you have any to sell.

Other than that, buying loaded ammunition at the lowest price you can find is a very good way to generate your own once fired brass.

FYI, Manson Reamers builds the LeMAG/Bushy/Remmy Spec Reamers and built the very first ones and still does..

You can purchase a Sheridan gauge for the 450 Bushmaster through TROMIX. Its called a slotted case gauge. I purchased one and find it very helpful in determining whether or not my resized cases are withing spec. I also use it to determine if my reloads are within spec. ...and yes, if it doesn't fit the gauge, it probably won't chamber. Link: www.tromix.com
