Please identify this bullet.

Over at the Sheepdawgs Campfire, we are wondering who makes this bullet.

One speculation is a Golden Saber but look close.
My first thought was a Eldorado Starfire but the grooves in the forward end of the jacket are too long and the jacket appears to be brass but the core is almost a perfect copy of the Starfire.
Here are the Eldorado Starfires in a 230 Gr HP in 45ACP in my G21 mag.

Any thoughts?

Looking at the perforations on the jacket of the bullet in question, they are much longer than my Eldorado Starfires. (PMC).

Here is a sample picture of Federals. The one on the right is the HST.

Definitely the Federal HST. There's a local LEO supply company near where I work called Streichers and I bought a box for my carry .45 AMT Backup. I normally feed it Federal PD ammo, but they are no longer available, so I got the HSTs. Real Palm Pounders in the diminutive AMT Backup. Been meaning to load up some 200 FTX's and try them in it. Too much going on this summer and never got to it.

That's pretty impressive expansion for a 45ACP. Might have to look for some. My star fires are getting old. Now that you mentioned it Hoot, those 200 Grainer FTX bullets might be a good ticket if I can get them to load in my Glock mag.

They're designed for low velocity expansion. I'd bet that they would over-deploy at the velocities we use. One plus would be if a person does not have a decent longer range caliber besides their 450b and wanted to use it in that capacity and still get expansion.

Have you ever shot the 200FTXs in the 45 ACP?

No, it's another entry in my "To-Do List" that keeps getting pushed down. :|
