Someone used the Tubbs Final Finish on their barrel and it allowed his bullets to be seated out to 2.300.
It sounds like some of the barrels have a rough throat.
The bench rest guys like a short throat so for a handloader it isn't a big deal.
I'm going to try short bullets like 85 grain sierra HP's for yote hunting and plinking until the throat wears in.
For deer hunting the 100 grain TTSX is a great choice.
The Berger VLD hunting Bullets might work well with a short throat since they like to be close to the lands.
They are accurate at long range but mag length limits getting close to the lands.
The short throat would help with that.
