Just noticed some new copper and brass .452" solids from Lehigh Defense...in fact, the 245 gr. brass one is listed for the "458" Bushmaster (Midway typo)...we should try these out, with the possible exception of the 135 gr., which seem a bit iffy to me in the 450b, at least on paper...there's actually another one at 120 gr. which doesn't seem likely to work, but who knows?

They pull double duty for tightening #3 Phillips screws in a bind. ;)

EDIT: Jut watched the penetration test on ballistic gel on youtube. Good Lord! :o

Yeah...they have a unique "look" to them, but as you noted in the video they will indeed plow their way through pretty much anything you want punctured.

Hootster: what are your thoughts on the two lightest/shortest ones, the 135 and 120 gr. slugs, as to their functioning in the AR platform of the 450b? Bolt-gun guys would probably have no problems, but I'm not sure what to expect out of the AR version...

They would be screamers IF you can get a good hold on them with a crimp. The lack of purchase is IMHO, why the 165 and 185gr bullets from C.O.P. that I tested did so poorly. They jump out before the powder gets cooking. Definitely candidates for Alliant 2400 as I suspect Lil Gun may be too slow for them. You never know though. My read on these things is that they work like a star drill, deflecting material to the sides. As for applications, your guess is as good as mine. Image

A thread has sprung up in the Reloading for the 450b Sub-forum as well.
