Low flash powder for 308 Win.?

Postby Texas Sheepdawg » Thu Jan 03, 2019 12:23 am

I have a buddy who is using a 308Win AR10 who’s looking for a low flash factory round or a low flash powder to handload his 308Win for night time hog hunting. His issue right now is his muzzle flash is blinding his NV scope.
I’ve already discussed brakes and suppressors with him. So I’m not looking for that advice.
Let’s keep it either a low flash powder or a factory load with low flash powder.
Thanks.

I like AR Comp for reasons other than its low flash signature, but it does have one.

Here's a link to .308 reloading data for it:

PS: The 168gr Hornady Amax recipe was a 5-shot, 100yd, ragged single hole group using a CCI 200 primer in my RRA Predator HP AR10 off of a BR setup.
In Theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In Practice, there is.

Thanks Hoot. I may have to load this for him since he doesn’t handload. But I’ll have to measure his chamber and work up a load for it if he chooses to go that route.
But if anyone else has input please post.
