I bought 40 TTSX BT from Barnes. I've recently started to load them. I like the bullet, very accurate. Sub MOA, better than Hornady 250 which is very accurate too.

For AR guns Barnes load data is.

For my Bolt guns I loaded a little more powder slightly compressed 101 percent. Barnes used compressed at 37gr H110
I find it seals the case to the chamber much better than the lower pressure stock ammo.

Sorry to bring an old topic up but I was wondering if anyone has developed a load for this round yet. 34 grain lil gun, WSR primer, once fired brass, COAL 2.24. I didn’t measure the crimp (Lee Pacesetter set) , but this load was BAD out of my Ruger American. Like 2.25” at 100 yards. I have Lil Gun and H110 at home. Thanks for any input.

PS Did Barnes close their online store? I can’t find the link on their website.

Welcome Aboard OM!

You may just be below the optimum speed for stabilizing that bullet. I'd try upping the charge to 37gr, then work up from there in .5gr increments.
I'm assuming you shot your test using a stable bench and rest. The object being to remove you from the equation as much as possible when doing load development. There will be plenty of time to work on the "you factor" after you find a good recipe for your rifle with those components.

I use H110, its pretty safe, difficult to over load it in a bolt. I will give you some of the loads I did and all were very accurate. I got better accuracy seating further out (not 2.22") but 2.35" or so. Like the photo above with the top bullet groove exposed. These are all like 95 percent fill. Keep it 90 -100 percent fill adjust the COL if needed.

Note! - These loads are all for my BOLT guns. Not AR. No issues with pressure with any of them. Shot over 100 rounds.

Bullet____________Powder Amount Primer COL crimp velocity (Ruger Scout)
250gr Barnes TTSX BT H110 41.2gr R 71/2 2.345" .480" 2223fps
250gr Barnes TTSX BT H110 42.0gr R 71/2 2.345" .480" 2274fps

250gr Barnes TTSX BT H110 41.5gr R 71/2 2.370" .478" 2265fps
250gr Barnes TTSX BT H110 42.0gr R 71/2 2.370" .478" 2301fps

250gr Barnes TTSX BT H110 38.0grC R 71/2 2.225" .478" 2301fps (deeper seated than rest, accuracy not as good)

Best accuracy was 41 to 42gr H110

BTW Barnes site is https://www.barnesbullets.com/
I had to call them, did not use the site for the order.

Thanks for the info. I’m using a bipod for shooting groups. I don’t have a rest (yet). I’m using a Leopold 1.5-4 power scope. So I know that’s a limiting factor at the range. I will definitely load these loads up today and hopefully hit the range. I really want this bullet to work.

Remember that is for H110 not Lil Gun. Lil gun is hotter so need less to get same velocities.

At 1.5-4 power I would shoot at 50 yards. At 100 too many variables come into play at that low magnification. Very hard to line up the 2nd shot exactly like the first. So you won't know if its the load, the wind or you moving just a tad. 50 yards removes most of the wind effect from the equation. Should be like .3" high at 50 if sighting for 100 yards.
