First place that I checked was Midway. They have them in stock. Can ship tomorrow. Cheaper at Optics Planet. Cabelas online also. They're not cheap compared to mainstream 450b bullets but if you just gotta have sub-sonic, that's your fate.

I just Googled: Hornady 395 Grain SUB-X Bullets in stock.

Be real careful Googling as there are a lot of fake sites out there lately. First give away is if they don't take name brand credit cards or only PayPal F&F and Zelle.

Holy Carp! I see Sportsman guide has loaded ammo for 32.95 a box of 20. Is this bullet half the cost of a box of ammo?

I have an Obsidian 45 about to get out of jail. I want to see how it works in my 10.5" 450 Bushmaster AR.

Your math is good. Yes the bullets alone run 84₵ each. The loaded ammo is $1.65 each. Assuming you already have brass, you should be able to reload them yourself for comfortably under $1.00 each. That's going to be a stout recoiling pistol load, or do you already have it registered as an SBR?

"The Earl o SAmmich" If you can hold out for a little while, MidwayUSA will run a sale on these. I have gotten several boxes at 24.99 (50 rd box). They are regularly 41.99-44.99. The sale happens about every three to four months. Good luck and have fun with these!

If you are just going to target shoot or plink around, I'd HIGHLY recommend buying some coated cast bullets and save a ton of money! I really like the 405 gn (45-70) bullets that I size down tot .452 and load. These are just as accurate as the 395 sub-x in my rifle.

Dan, does the coating stay on sizing them down that far?

No, it's a pistol. I took the brace off and use a sling over my left shoulder to front hand guard, around my neck/back under my right arm pit to the receiver extension sling attachment I added and push out, away from me. Very stable. Try it. I can support the firearm with just my left hand and back. For a buck a round I could go get a job at McDonalds making minimum wage and have less time into it and probably make money to boot.

I'll keep my ears pierce. I just ordered two boxes from Sportsman's Guide, loaded ammo.

There is no damage to the coating. I do spray a batch of bullets with Hornady brand "One shot" case lube before their trip through the sizer die. It take very little effort to go from .4585 down to .452. When done correctly, the powder is bonded to the lead. I've done the hammer test with my own cast bullets and the coating does not budge. I've also recovered shot bullets and seen just how well the powder coat is boned. I've also pushed PC'd bullets to over 1650 fps with no gas check and zero fouling or leading. I use Powder buy the Pound colors with the shake n bake method. You can easily find this on Google if you are interested in this method.
