I have wondered how the 200s or 225s would perform at lower velocities. Please do a water shot with one of them. I was considering some for when I use up my 160gr Federal .45 PD Hydro-Shocks some day. They're a light recoiling round that works well in my small, .45 ACP AMT Backup I use for carry.

I had a chance to run my loads over the chrony and do a water shot. I think I'm going to bump the charge up a bit on my next loads.
200 grain ftx
7.7 grains Herco
945 FPS with no pressure signs
The bullet was separated from the jacket laying in the same bottle. The bullet measures .7" in diam

Which bottle, number wise?
How was the perceived recoil, compared to say 230gr FMJ?

It was laying in the 3rd jug and the recoil was less than with my factory magtech 230 FMJ. I think I'm going to order some +P brass and see how fast I can push them. I carry this gun on my hip during archery season due to the increase in the wolf population so I'd like to get everything I can out of them!

I'm carrying a full sized 1911 and yes those are some of the blems I bought.

Very interesting! Did you "have" to cut off the tips or could you leave them on? I have a Colt 1991-A1 Commander and also a Glock G21. Do you have to Moly the bullets?

Yes I did have to cut the tips off so they would fit in the mag. I didn't have to moly them but it helps milk a bit more speed from them and keeps the copper fouling to a minimum.

Also forgot to mention the bullet weighed 195 grains after recovery. I'm also betting most of the weight loss was due to the missing polymer tip.
