Any one have an educated guesstimate on what would be a safe max for the 200 gr ftx's with H110? I think theres some stuff for the 185's used in a bolt action, but Id like to get a little more pertinent info. Thanks in advance- Mike.

I've taken the 200 up to 41gr Lil Gun with zero danger signs. Seemed like there was still room for more without compressing. I'd bet you could go that high with H110. Just remember, the 200 FTX is optimized for expansion at lower velocities. In my milk jug test, they did best arriving at the jugs at 2000 fps or less. If your just going for blind speed, that's different. I have yet to destroy them as a function of maximum velocity. I would be looking on the other (faster) side of Lil Gun if it were me. In the case of the 200 FTX, Lil Gun seems too slow and 2400 pressure stacks dangerously quick as you increase the load.

Has anyone used N110?

The charts show it slightly faster than Lil Gun and slightly slower than 2400.

Hoot,
You can rest assured that the 200 gr ftx's on game hold up (they have enough arse to tear a back leg off  ). Crunch the numbers, the poor bc sheds velocity quick before they reach the 100 yard mark, however, I dont have the stones to shoot thru my chrono at 100 yards with this gun.

I was using lil gun and ran out, I have several pounds of H110 left. I think Ill go with the whatever comes out to be the most accurate and go from there. BTW, good job on all your research and data-Thanks for all your doing- Mike.

Naw, I'm not putting my chrony downrange of that monster either. Figure it sheds 300 fps at 100 yards, worse beyond. My use will never be beyond 100 yards, so I've tailored my efforts around 2200-2300 fps out of the muzzle = 1900-2000 fps @ 100 yards. As you know, plenty of starch still in those shorts out beyond 100 yards even at 2200 fps out the door. Load up whatever powder from the charts you have. I'm sure it'll work.

In all likelihood, the 200 FTX will be my go-to load for whitetails. I don't need to kill three abreast with one shot. ;)

I just got news of a new farm to shoot tonight. (insert big grin here). While I plan on using the 257 weatherby, as it is wide open and flat, I always have the 450 with me. I have some 200s that chronograph right at 2300 fps that Ill try to use and get back to you on how much they tear up.
