Yeah, the laws and fees are a little whacky here, but the weather is great, you don't have to worry about fire ants and chiggers when you sit down and the country side is amazing as long as the earth doesn't shift while you're pulling your shot off. :D

Wow.... A pig permit costs 20 bucks? Our hog season is 24/7/365
And no permits needed. Just a hunting license and a killing ground
You could probably get paid to killem' here. Oh well, I shouldn't
Be surprised at hunting laws in CA.
And yeah, we can hunt hogs at night.

What? They don't make deep woods Off to repel earthquakes?
LOL. I don't hunt sitting ON the ground much. I'm either in a blind
Or a stand or stalking.
As for the Fire ants, that's the Texas Version of Waterboarding.
We just never told Nancy Pelosi.

I have not seen any reports using this bullet on deer so I thought I should add mine.

I shot a spike buck with the 240 XTP mag Saturday with a CVA Hunter (25inch barrel). Shot placement was high shoulder right through the shoulder blade, range was around 40 yards. Deer did not move an inch. Bullet did not exit. Complete jacket separation and I recovered a lead plug and the jacket on the opposite side in the hide.

37 grains of Lil' Gun and loaded to 2.06 inches. I do not have chrono readings for this load but I do plan to take some in the future. I expect it to be around 2300 so probably a little higher than the bullet was designed for.

Not sure if this will be my hunting load in the future, but the price is better than the 250 FTX or 300 XTP Mags. Hopefully I get another chance to test it out and do not go through the shoulder blade, then I would expect less fragmentation.

What is the best way for me to show pictures? I have pictures of the recovered bullet/jacket, deer and a close up of the shoulder if you guys want to see it. They are too big for me to attach them to my post.

I use post image after photo bucket started charging.

I've shot a few deer with that 240gr xtp mag, have recovered a couple intact at longer ranges (over 100yds), never had one come apart, but never hit big bone either.

imgur works well for me. It even includes script for a picture you can paste directly into forums.
