I would definitely use the ammo that you sighted it in with as there can be a good bit of difference between loads. Or you could go sight in the other brand before you go hunting and give yourself something to do!! :D

I chronographed a box of Remington 260 vs Hornady 250. They came in about 100 fps slower in every category - highest, lowest, median, and average. The spread between highest and lowest velocity was a couple of fps different; the Remington had a higher standard deviation (54 vs 48 for Hornady). I had a few flyers with the Remington, much tighter groups with the Hornady.

Here is a photo of the two targets.

Jimbo...do remember that the Remmy greenies have a "variable" crimp from the factory...if you have a taper crimp die, you should recrimp them to 0.475" at the case mouth, measured as close to the end of the case as possible. Stabilizes the velocities and improves accuracy with the Rem 260s.

Yeah, it's always reassuring to know that we have to finish Remmys' factory ammo for them.

CF - Thanks for the tip. I have the Hornady taper crimp die for the 450. I will give it a shot at the Remingtons before I go to the range.
