Just found another gun writer making the "200-yard 450b" mistake: the Winter 2011 issue of Petersen's Hog Hunting magazine has J. Guthrie discussing all the current options for the AR platform, and for a change he speaks well of the 450b, but yet again tries to limit it to "under 200 yards". What do we have to do?

What do we have to do?

You're going to have to call these guys and set them straight. If I do it, it'll sound like "Sour Grapes".

The thing I tried to do, is a contest, to accomplish two things..

1). That this is not merely a 200yds rig, at most, that when you get to 300-500yds, there's something going on that transcends the Energy Charts. In the long ago Buffalo Hunts, the hunters really wanted to be at 300yds, so they could shoot the whole herd with out spooking them off. And we are right now, smoking the shorts off a 45-70, with the proper set-up.

2). FORGET THE ENERGY CHARTS!! We have always had Big Caliber Bullets, and Small Caliber Bullets. The Big, go relatively Slow and the Small go relatively fast. When you load up the 450b, something you CANNOT DO, at all, in those Pistol Cased Big Bore AR's (socom/beowulf), you start to see magical things the shooting public has never seen, from "Fast Big Bullets"!!

Next Years Contest ought to set things straight, I'll be offering 100 rounds, of your bullet of choice, loaded by me Personally.

Speaking of contest, you'd better get your vote in, or forever hold your peace..
