Fellow hog hunters, need your help!

Postby kottke_35 » Wed Jan 25, 2012 2:07 am

Hello all,

As the title states, I need some help. I'm looking for a place to hunt some hogs. I live in Colorado and am putting together a trip to Texas in March. I was wondering if anybody would be willing to give me some info on public land or private land where people want these hogs gone. Could probably trade some mule deer/elk hunting here in Colorado. Let me know what you guys think. Would be willing to pay a small trespass fee to hunt.

I want to shoot me some bacon with Thumper!

Thanks all,
B.

Here is another link to a Texas Parks and Wildlife site. TP&W has lands are open to the public for walk in hunting for a variety of species, including feral hogs.

If you want a guided hunt, here is a specific link - http://www.hoghuntinghoghunting.com/?gclid=CLSy_aPh3K0CFQuhtgodByDmHA. They are a bit pricey at their regular rate, but frequently offer "coupon" specials that are reasonable.

I have not tried either of these, but I, too, have been looking around for a hog hunting opportunity. If you do put a group together and have room for another Thumper owner, let me know.

Another thing you can do is call one of the game wardens, i know why would anyone do that lol. but we went to south dakota this past fall for pheasants for the first time completely blind but called a game warden up there and told us all about the populations and what counties to go. he was very helpful, so you might wanna give that a try.

im hoping to do the same thing later this year for some black bear.
