Hoarding

Postby wildcatter » Fri Feb 08, 2013 10:31 pm

So, we just think it's civilian hoarding that's draining the shelves. I suspect that this is back-door gun control. That is, if the Fed buys up all the stock and we cant resupply, well.....

And remember, that the resources to produce such quantities, means the manfs. don't have the time to produce your ammo..

Ps.. and they have been buying weapons, like there was no tomorrow..t

Seems to me the ammo MFJs are now in a situation where it could be debated that they are aiding and abetting the Obama administration?

I agree, the feds are buying it all up and killing two birds with one stone. Reducing our ammo supplies, and greatly increasing theirs. And guess who's money they're using to do it.
Everyone should email the ammo companies and show their disdain over selling so much to the government while starving the rest of us. We do still have a 1st amendment left, I think.

On the other hand, there may not be any black helicopters involved - http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/02/16/ammunition-shortage/1919321/.

"The National Shooting Sports Foundation, which represents ammunition makers, retailers, hunters and sport shooters, attributes what it calls 'spot shortages' around the country to rising popularity of sport-shooting and hunting, and to people who are "keeping firearms for personal and home defense....'retailers say much of the demand is from gun owners who are stockpiling in case certain weapons are banned, who believe that economic chaos may be coming, or who are driven by rumors of inevitable background checks or rising taxes on ammunition. Gun sellers and owners say a run on ammunition began shortly after President Obama was re-elected, and has intensified in the gun-violence debate....' "

An earlier statement by the NSSF in August 2012 regarding the government contracts that made news in April 2012 gives a breakdown of the ammunition orders of different agencies and compares it to the numbers of persons involved and their training and duty requirements. It can be found at http://www.nraila.org/news-issues/articles/2012/federal-law-enforcement-agencies-buy-ammunition.aspx.

There is another thread on this subject at http://450bushmaster.net/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=13391.

It's a fact.

Further google searches.

Of particular interest, here is an article where the NWS requests Hollow point ammo and states:
"A solicitation which appears on the FedBizOpps website asks for 16,000 rounds of .40 S&W jacketed hollow point (JHP) bullets, noted for their strength, to be delivered to locations in Ellsworth, Maine, and New Bedford, Mass."

Do your own research now, using the "FedBizzOpps" and "ammunition buy ups" as part of your search.

16,000 rounds of .40 cal purchased by the government is not exactly going to go very far in denying citizens their ammunition. Yet .40 cal is still hard to come by or very expensive (all is relative, of course.

Anyone ever trained on these targets?
I've never seen one.
But it looks like we are now confirmed targets.
I don't care how anyone tries to rationalize this.
You'll never convince me otherwise.
