You target just below the head and preferably from the side so you don't shoot the fan. Got my second Miriam a week ago with a 12 ga. The pattern out to 40 yds is tight enough with a good turkey choke and load that very few, if any, of the pellets hit the body. In my case, about a half dozen in the head and neck and none in the body. About 25 lbs and 8-1/2 inch beard.. Will post a photo shortly.

Bow hunters target the body, but not shotgunners.
