Nice! I would love to try one of these out. It would be very interesting to confirm velocity data over 100 yards. I would imagine it would help with truing your ballistic data compared to the online and other ballistic calculators.

Well, so far I am liking this new toy. It would appear to be quite robust in its ability to capture data. Take a look at the attached spreadsheet, I opened the two strings saved as files on the SD card (CVS Files) and saved them as tabs in one spreadsheet. Both represent the two factory loadings fired at 6000 foot PA and at 54 deg F.

Additionally, the device saves data tracks from each shot. The following is from the first shot of the 123 Grain FMJ.

Pretty cool!

Per specification, how far out will it still track a bullet? I'm assuming it tracks larger caliber bullets further out?

What's even more cool is if you plot the velocity decay for each shot, the resultant lines virtually lie on top of each other. The bullet, regardless of what velocity it starts out at and ends up at, is very consistent in terms of BC.

I think the next time I go out I will hit the 300 yard range and see if I can get an idea of the tracking limits for some different calibers. So far I am impressed.

They are great units.

those things are pretty slick. hopefully in the future the price point will come down.

Have any of you who own one, shot on a busy range with tables and downrange targets say, 8 feet apart? Is there a diffusion factor with the downrange cone of detection?

I have shot with several shooters on the line and arrays of steel and paper targets and never got a fault or picked up another shooters shot. Other shooters maybe 10 feet to my right. I checked the display after every shot for about 40 rounds and it got them all, with no add ins.
