Been away from the forum for a while....still clinging to my 450 though...! !

What's the word on new ammo..? Anything ever come of the Hog Hammer or anything other than the Hornady 250 or the Remmy 260....?

Just curious and hoping that some other ammo is available soon in an unleaded variety.....

Thanks and Hello to all.................! !

nope, still same two offerings unfortunately. I'd think it'd be easy enough for Hornady to offer a load with their 250gr GMX ML bullet, but me thinking and their doings are three different things :o

Until then we'll keep rolling our own :)

Talked to Corbon and they are thinking about it. They need marketing information on it so e-mail gary@corbon.com and tell him what is needed ie. 200gr,275gr lead free. :D :P

Here is the latest on Corbon ammo aka Dakota ammo.

Hey Mike, I got a chance to speak with Pete Jr. about the challenges in loading our DPX into the 450 Bushmaster.

He said that the designer wants royalties on the round, which presents a challenge. He also mentioned that 458 SOCOM is currently proving to be very popular. (Though if I remember correctly, you're not allowed to use necked cartridges, right? I remember something along those lines from someone I've spoken with about the 450 Bushmaster.)

Unfortunately, we do not have any plans at this moment to start production of anything in 450 Bushmaster. He said that perhaps in the future we might produce the round.

Sorry I couldn't deliver any good news to you guys.

Yeah, I've mothballed my .450 bushmaster and went with a Ruger .308 Scout rifle.
Not that I want to. I still believe the .450 is the best.
Unfortunately Horady and Remington outright LIED about bringing non lead ammo to market.

This is confusing. Is he saying that Tim aka WildCatter wants a royalty for producing ammo labeled "450 Bushmaster"? Not sure I understand...

Hoot I don't know, I just copied and pasted his response. Maybe it is something that Peter Pi Jr and wildcatter (Tim) need to clear up. It would be nice to get Dakota ammo making some for the lead free crowd.
