I have a few Remingtons, they were a good gun for the working man..My 1985 30-06 Model 700 is a pretty good rifle , so is my wife's 2005 model 700 youth 243 and 20 ga 870 youth ...."They" also screwed up Marlin from what I hear. I hope they can get it together.

Not really surprised, when they have been producing subpar firearms for years.

Last Remington I bought was an 1100 back in 1968. Did buy a Marlin after Remington took over and ended up trading it in on Ruger #1. Remington's quality has been going down hill for quite a while, which is really too bad.

Love my 1979, 1100 3" Mag. All steel! Too bad I loaned it to my bipolar nephew to take duck hunting onceand despite him being a good kid and not dumb either, he put it away wet in the case. When I got after him to get it back to me, he took is out and panicked at all the rust freckling. It gets worse. He then tried bluing over the rust freckles with some cheap cold blue (black) and actually made it look worse. Bore and action are fine and it still shoots great. 20 years later, now that he's rolling in dough from his IT consultant job, I should shame him into paying to have it professionally reblued. :|

I had a 70's 12 ga 1100. When I went dove hunting I would carry an extra "O" ring with me.. I bought a 11-87 when they came out, still have it. sold the 1100..bought a Hastings rifled barrel with cantilever scope mount for the 11-87 in 2002. I have a nice Remington semi auto made in the 40's it will shoot and cycle CB caps, shorts and long rifle bullets..shot a bunch of squirrls with it years ago. I won a 597 semi auto .22 at a Archery shoot, hardly ever shoot it, I like the old one better.. I guess I have a few Remingtons..I hope they can regroup and get back to where they were "back in the day".

they need to pull evertyhing out of that NYS facility and be done with it.

cut the losses there, and get that anchor off their necks - just move the rest of it down south even if you gotta pay to relocate a bunch of folks.

Best thing they could do would be to leave Cerberus; fire most of management; and move to Texas, Oklahoma, or their location in Arkansas...

Didn't they move a lot of operations to Huntsville Alabama?
