Bear Hunting in Alaska

Postby Texas Sheepdawg » Fri Feb 11, 2011 2:26 pm

ANCHORAGE (PP)- The Pope took a couple of days off to visit the
rugged mountains of Alaska for some sightseeing.
He was cruising along the campground in the
Pope Mobile when there was a frantic commotion
just at the edge of the woods. A helpless democrat,
wearing sandals, shorts, a 'Vote for Obama' hat and
a 'Save the Trees' T-shirt, was screaming while
struggling frantically and thrashing around trying to
free himself from the grasp of a 10-foot grizzly.
As the Pope watched in horror, a group of republican
loggers with 'Go Sarah' T-Shirts came racing up. One
quickly fired a 44 magnum into the bear's chest.. The
other two reached up and pulled the bleeding,
semiconscious democrat from the bear's grasp. Then
using long clubs, the three loggers finished off the bear
and two of them threw it onto the bed of their truck
while the other tenderly placed the injured democrat
in the back seat.
As they prepared to leave, the Pope summoned them
to come over. 'I give you my blessing for your brave
actions!' he told them. 'I heard there was a bitter hatred
between republican loggers and democratic
environmental activists, but now I've seen with my own
eyes that this is not true.'
As the Pope drove off, one logger asked his buddies
'Who was that guy?'
'It was the Pope,' another replied. 'He's in direct
contact with Heaven and has access to all wisdom.'
'Well,' the logger said, 'he may have access to all
wisdom, but he doesn't know squat about bear hunting!
By the way, is the bait still alive, or do we need to go
back to Massachusetts and get another one?

Guys, not all freedom loving gun enthusiasts are Republicans. Some, like myself, feel that both parties are hopelessly corrupted by special interest campaign contributions and only view you and I as walking ATMs for their wealthy benefactors' pet projects.

Why do we always have to vote for the lesser of two evils? Why can't we say evil is not acceptable? Why don't we tell them they can no longer take "legal" bribes in the form of huge campaign contributions and that they need to represent the people, not the contributor with the most money.

I would change this story to read:

'I heard there was a bitter hatred
between hard working loggers and lying-ass greedy politicians,

First thing. I am in agreement on the condiition of the GOP.
Second, I am a Constitutionalist/ Libertarian, and former Repubican who wishes the GOP would
stop selling out to the progressive liberals and their corrupt agendas.
Third, This was just a bit of fun and since I can laugh at my own tomfoolery, I dont take myself too seriously.
Fourth, just replace the names and labels as you see fit to make the joke fit your tastes, works for me, but
repeat to yourself, it's just a joke, i should really just relax.

No worries dawg, while I will disagree that jokes are harmless, I didn't mean to harsh your thread.

I just get frustrated that while the conservatives and liberals are pointing their fingers and calling each other all sorts names and blaming each other for the the down fall of America, the real scoundrels are pleased that they've distracted us all with petty two party bickering and in-fighting. They are now free to sneak behind our backs, reach in our wallets and do their deals that line the pockets of the top 3% of the country, all while we are throwing mud at our neighbors for having a different point of view.

But perhaps this wasn't the best place to spout off, i just needed to get that off my chest, my apologies :P

I have to chime in here, just to say that I could never expect such a civil outcome on ANY other forum!

This makes me glad to be here.

I love this forum. Slash, I agree that business as usual in
our parties is destroying our country.
Those who are duping The People need to be GONE. I don't care
What party they are affiliated with.
Texas is one of the last bastions of conservative democrats.
We do have that blessing. I dig the Tea Party Movement.
I can assure you that there are Republicans that make my
Skin crawl. I lived in TN 14 years before coming to my home
State of Texas. While there, we got burned BAD by democrats.
Algore was one that betrayed my trust. And there were others.
The ones who took their place were guys like Ed Bryant and Fred
Thompson. Pretty good folks. My wish is that we can get rid of
ANY progressive/ liberal politician, whether they are like obama
And his socialist ilk, or a RINO. The Tea Party has these destructive
Mooncalves whizzing it right down their pants legs. I can't wait for
2012! I love the smell of fear of November!

i used to think stuff like that was real funny, but our freedom is no joke, it's been under attack for a long time and is now almost completely gone... spouting off at www.teapartypatriots.org helps me vent in a more useful manner....

i thought it was a good joke, i laughed :)

cheers
