Spring 2010 Turkey Season Results

Postby YoteAddict » Sun Apr 25, 2010 7:25 pm

Please post your 2010 Spring Turkey pictures and stories.

Here is the Merriam's turkey I bagged Saturday. Overall we had a lot of interaction with the big birds and topped it off by taking the Tom shown below. The shot was 33 yards.

One of the best turkey hunts I ever had was the last weekend in April in a driving snow storm, in Arkansas! The gobblers just didn't know how to handle the white stuff so they just staggered around gobbling their heads off.
My Daddy was wrong when he said: "When a man turns 60 he ought to be able to trade his testicles in on a new set of teeth." Oatmeal and soup don't sound too bad.

Yes, it does snow in Arizona...at least where the turkeys live. Our camo didn't match that white stuff but we seemed to make it work. This is the first time that I had the opportunity to hunt spring turkey with complete snow cover (but the snow melted by the next day).

Way to go! I really like all the white in those merriam's fans... I've struck out this season but only got to hunt one time. They started cutting on both of my leases two weeks into season :(

Dinner...mmm good! 'Never frozen' food is my favorite. The bird fed my family of five tonight with some leftover for lunch tomorrow.
